Parliament sitting shortened after Senator's officer tests positive for Covid-19

The first day of the Parliament sitting has been shortened to 1pm on Monday (Nov 2) after a Senator's officer tested positive for Covid-19.

Following the advice of Health Ministry officials, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan tabled the motion under Standing Order 12(1) to shorten the daily sitting.

The decision followed an emergency meeting with all party whip chiefs.
