No plans to amend laws compelling companies over salary disclosure based on gender, says minister

There are no plans to amend the law to compel companies to disclose the salaries of their employees based on gender, says Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister said that when answering a question raised by -Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah in Dewan Rakyat on Monday (July 20), adding that the issue of salary disclosure is not within the scope of the Companies Act and the Companies Commission.

Maria asked if the present administration would amend the Companies Act during post Covid-19 to make companies include the average salary, salary grade and percentage of bonus recipients based on gender in their annual reports.
