New funds, programmes under Budget 2026 to turn Malaysia into ‘AI Nation’, says Gobind

Malaysia is ramping up efforts to position itself as an “AI nation,” with Budget 2026 expected to introduce new funding and initiatives to boost artificial intelligence adoption.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the government is strengthening regulations, GovTech projects, and public-private partnerships, while investing in digital talent through programs like AI untuk Rakyat.

He urged businesses to embrace AI now rather than adopt a “wait and see” approach.
