Nearly 40% of EPF members meet RM390,000 basic savings target, Parliament hears

More than three million active Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributors have achieved the basic retirement savings target of RM390,000, up from 2.71 million a year ago.

Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong attributed the increase to government initiatives such as i-Saraan Plus, i-Simpan and i-Topup, which aim to boost retirement savings, particularly among gig workers and the self-employed.
