My detention in Canada has disrupted my life, says Huawei executive

Speaking outside of the British Columbia Supreme Court before her return to China on Sept 24, Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou said her house arrest in Canada over bank and wire fraud charges for the past three years had turned her life upside down.

But she hoped that there would be a silver lining in her ordeal after her release. In Dec 2018, Canadian authorities arrested Meng at the Vancouver International Airport at the behest of the US Department of Justice over charges that she pleaded not guilty to.
