Muhyiddin: 101,385 applied for Employee Insurance Scheme

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Dec 8) that SOCSO (Social Security Organisation) has received 101,385 applications for the Employee Insurance Scheme as of Dec 3 this year, compared to over 40,000 in 2019 and 24,000 in 2018.

Muhyiddin also said based on the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) report in October, out of the 500 families who live in public housing in the Federal Territories, 35% were jobless with one in every two families categorised under B40.
