MPs claim “political interference” during MCO food basket distribution

Several opposition MPs questioned the Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun over the alleged political interference in the distribution of food baskets to the needy during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Raising the matter in Parliament on Tuesday, Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar said food aid distribution in her constituency came to an unexpected halt due to a letter from Bersatu’s Nibong Tebal MP Datuk Mansor Othman, who redirected food aid distribution to be carried out by “selected representatives”.
