President Donald Trump said a suspect was in custody after shots were fired at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on Saturday (April 25), prompting the evacuation of Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other top officials.

In a late-night press conference at the White House, Trump said one law enforcement officer was shot but the officer's bulletproof vest "did its job".
