Malaysian volunteer undertaker strained under latest Covid-19 surge

Dressed in full protective gear, Skuad Pengurusan Jenazah Malaysia (SPJM) is usually called in by hospitals to give coronavirus victims a Muslim burial.

Muhammad Rafieudin Zainal Rasid, who heads the nationwide volunteer team, says they are currently handling nearly 30 times more bodies than they did last year and struggling to keep up.
