Malaysia seeks to turn digital investments into economic value

Malaysia is shifting its focus from attracting digital investments to ensuring they translate into tangible economic benefits, including stronger local businesses, high-value jobs and home-grown innovation.

Speaking at the MDX Forum 2026, organised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) on Monday (Sept 28), Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the government must also adapt as technology rapidly changes the way work is done.
