Malaysia mulls drafting AI-focused laws, says Azalina

Malaysia is exploring the possibility of introducing legislation to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) as part of efforts to address emerging legal challenges in the digital era, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

At a press conference on Monday (June 16), Azalina said she has written to Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo to propose a meeting between the Legal Affairs Division and the Digital Ministry to begin discussions on drafting AI-related laws.
