MACC sets target score of 60 in Corruption Perceptions Index within two to three years

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) aims to lift Malaysia’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) score to at least 60 within two to three years, says chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
Malaysia’s score rose from 50 to 52, with its ranking improving to 54th, but Azam stressed that the score — not the position — is the true benchmark.
He said reaching 60 would signal meaningful progress driven by strong political will and governance reforms, noting that leadership integrity and enforcement consistency heavily influence global perception surveys.
