Kuantan High Court overturns former fire station chief's graft conviction

A former fire station chief was acquitted and discharged by the Kuantan High Court on Tuesday (Jan 6) on 10 charges of awarding food supply contracts worth RM36,279.69 to a company owned by his wife.

Justice Samry Masri ordered Sheikh Hassan Sheikh Zainuddin, 61, to be freed after allowing his appeal to set aside the conviction and sentence imposed by the Sessions Court.
