KJ to Guan Eng: Set GST at lower rate, we won’t hold it against you

Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin urged Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng not to hold on to Pakatan Harapan’s election promise of abolishing GST but to lower the rate instead, adding that the Opposition will “not hold it against you”. He said this after the minister argued that the previous government had a flawed refund mechanism in his winding-up speech during the motion to debate the Royal Address in Parliament on Tuesday.
