Japan lifts tsunami advisory after magnitude 6.7 earthquake hit northeast region

Japan lifted a tsunami advisory hours after an earthquake struck the northeast of the country on Friday (Dec 12).
The Japan Meteorological Agency had issued the advisory for waves up to 1 metre high after the quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.7 struck at 11:44 a.m. off the coast of Aomori prefecture with a depth of 20 km.
