Ismail Sabri: RM5.5mil losses from sale of face mask scams

As much as RM5.5mil has been lost to face mask sales scams during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Thursday (June 4) said from March 18 until June 3, the police had opened 527 investigation papers regarding such scams, mostly involving online platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

He reminded Malaysians to be careful when making online purchases, to avoid suspicious websites, and to always check on reviews and comments left by other buyers.
