Ismail Sabri: Recreational, leisure, social events not allowed during conditional MCO

All recreational, leisure and cultural activities, pubs and nightclubs, theme parks, recreational centres, indoor playgrounds and movie theatres will not be allowed to operate, said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister said that on Tuesday, adding that for sporting activities, individual sports, e-sports, sports that do not involve physical contact, combat sports and outdoor sports with not more than 10 participants will be allowed but pool activities, events and championships cannot be held during this period.

Ismail also said social events such as weddings, engagement parties, birthdays, reunions, as well as meetings, conferences, workshops, training and seminars will not be allowed.

As for education, all educational institutions, schools, kindergarten, nurseries and daycare centres will be closed during the conditional MCO.

Students who are sitting for exams with foreign institutes of higher learning are allowed to attend school but only to sit for the examinations and not for lessons, said the minister.
