Ismail Sabri: Border security tightened to prevent imported Covid-19 clusters via illegal migrants

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said enforcement agencies have been directed to plug illegal routes into the country, as an influx of migrants could jeopardise initiatives undertaken to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.

Thus far, 84 individuals who tried to sneak into Malaysia through the backdoor have been nabbed.

Police have detained 19,434 individuals for breaching the movement control order since March 18.
