Iran's Sports Minister rules out participation at World Cup in US

Iran may withdraw from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the United States, one of the tournament’s co-hosts, launched airstrikes on the country alongside Israel, killing its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iranian Sports Minister Ahmad Donyamali said on Wednesday (March 11) that Iran could not participate in the tournament under the current circumstances.
