Motor vehicle inspection centres must compete on service quality, efficiency and convenience, not price, with JPJ-regulated fees standardised across all licensed operators, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said inspections at private centres now take less than 20 minutes when conducted as scheduled, with results sent directly to JPJ to facilitate ownership transfers.
Loke also reminded operators of their responsibility to ensure legitimate inspections and roadworthy vehicles, adding that the Transport Ministry and JPJ would continue surprise audits and regular monitoring.
