Indonesian radical cleric linked to Bali bombings released from jail

Indonesian Islamic cleric Abu Bakar Bashir, who was suspected to be the mastermind of 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 victims has been released from prison.

Bashir, who is regarded as the spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiah (JI), a jihadist network with ties to Al-Qaeda, was released from Gunung Sindur prison at 5.30 am Friday morning and was picked up by his family and driven to his home in central Java.
