A group of Indigenous Taiwanese set off on a historic canoe voyage across the Bashi Channel to the Philippines on Monday (June 15), reviving a maritime route that had been dormant for centuries.
The journey aims to reconnect cultural and ancestral ties between Orchid Island’s Tao people and Indigenous communities in the Batanes Islands.
