Houthis deny targeting Mecca, PM Anwar calls for immediate end to attacks

Yemen's Houthis on Wednesday (Sept 16) denied targeting the holy city of Mecca, after Saudi Arabia said it had intercepted a Houthi drone south of Mecca the day before.

The militia said their operations only targeted Saudi oil facilities and military bases, away from sacred sites.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim condemned the actions, saying that there must be an immediate end to attacks on civilian sites and to any action that could endanger holy sites.
