Hassan Merican dodges reporters

Council of Eminent Persons member Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Merican just smiled and refused to speak to reporters at Menara Ilham on Monday amid speculation that he would be returning to Petronas as its new chairman, succeeding Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan. Formerly Petronas president and CEO from 1995 until his retirement in February 2010, Hassan has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, as well as in finance and management. It was believed his contract with Petronas was not renewed by former Premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
