Gurdwaras’ flood aid shows unity beyond religion, says Zahid

Religious differences should not hinder people from helping one another, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, citing gurdwaras that aided flood victims of all backgrounds during the December 2021 Selangor floods.

Speaking at the Vaisakhi celebration at Gurdwara Sahib Guru Nanak on Saturday (April 18), Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, he described the gesture as a commendable example of unity and said the festival reflects Malaysia’s rich diversity.

He also urged Malaysians to continue fostering mutual respect to preserve harmony and stability.
