Guan Eng: No ECRL statement for time being

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng says he has been advised by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad not to make any announcement relating to the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project yet.

He said this to reporters when asked about the ECRL after launching Bank Negara Malaysia's Fund for Affordable Homes and Rumahku portal on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Bernama reported him as saying that the Cabinet would make an official announcement this week on the China-backed RM81bil project.
