Govt to expedite promotions for Armed Forces, police, says Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government has agreed to expedite promotions for Armed Forces and police personnel, with details of the new mechanism to be announced on Aug 30.

Speaking at the Semarak Kenegaraan programme at Terendak Camp on Friday (Aug 7), he said the framework is being finalised by the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Public Service Department director-general.

Anwar also announced RM147,000 for the Armed Forces Wives' Welfare Association and RM1mil to maintain mosques and surau at Terendak Camp.
