Govt to continue taking necessary measures to address global economic uncertainty

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government will continue taking necessary steps to navigate growing global economic uncertainty, warning conditions have worsened since February.
When delivering his Workers’ Day message in conjunction with the National Workers’ Day 2026 celebration on Friday, Anwar highlighted a sharp rise in crude oil prices from US$70 to US$115 per barrel, alongside shortages of key materials like phosphate and higher diesel costs, affecting workers across plantations, factories and transport sectors.
