Govt to absorb licence fees

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the government’s decision to absorb the cost of driving licence fees for B2 motorcycles (below 250cc), taxis, buses and e-hailing providers will allow youth to find jobs in the gig economy.

Loke said his ministry will check with the Finance Ministry on the proposed allocation and will also look into its implementation soon.
