Govt sees positive outcome from BM, History briefing with school groups, says Fahmi

The government has reported positive progress in its discussions with education stakeholders on making Bahasa Melayu and History compulsory in schools.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek informed the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, that meetings with international schools, Maahad Tahfiz, and Dong Zong were productive.
He added that an official statement detailing the decisions and implementation will be issued once the Education Ministry (MOE) and Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) finalise their discussions.
