Govt Procurement Bill will curb corruption, stop leakages of public funds, says PM

The Government Procurement Bill 2025 places full accountability on any party conducting procurement using public funds, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Tabling the Bill for its second reading in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Aug 27), Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said it is designed to eradicate corruption and curb leakages of public money.
To ensure fairness, he said the Bill introduces appeal and objection mechanisms through review panels in each implementing agency, as well as an independent Procurement Appeal Tribunal under the Finance Ministry.
