Govt mulls revising laws to tackle online drug trade

The Home Ministry is reviewing existing laws and considering new legislation to curb the rising sale of drugs via online platforms, says Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (Aug 5), Saifuddin said the issue was raised at the Cabinet Committee on addressing drug issues, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He noted that enforcement remains challenging as drug transactions often occur through hard-to-monitor online channels outside official platforms.
