Govt mulling harsher penalties for cable thieves, Dewan Rakyat told

The government is considering tougher penalties for cable theft, following repeated incidents disrupting public transport services.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Oct 5) that the Home Ministry is reviewing possible legal amendments, while warning that those who knowingly receive stolen cables can also face punishment.
