Gobind: High-risk AI systems to face stricter safeguards under new Bill

Malaysia is drafting a new AI Bill that will impose stricter safety controls, testing, monitoring and human oversight on high-risk AI systems, says Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
The Bill, expected to be tabled early next year, will take a risk-based, cross-sectoral approach, with obligations determined by the potential harm posed by an AI system rather than the industry in which it is used.
