General Border Committee to meet on Dec 24 to resume Thai-Cambodia ceasefire

An Extraordinary General Border Committee (GBC) meeting will be held on Wednesday (Dec 24) to discuss the implementation and verification of the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, says Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Speaking after the special Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) on the Cambodia–Thailand situation on Monday, Mohamad said Asean Foreign Ministers welcomed ongoing discussions to resume the ceasefire and halt hostilities, expressing hope for an early de-escalation.

He said the AMM also urged both Cambodia and Thailand to exercise maximum restraint and take immediate steps to cease all forms of hostilities.
