Flooding strands Gibbons, raising concerns over sanctuary safety

Last month’s severe floods in Pahang exposed serious safety risks at the Gibbon Conservation Society Malaysia’s sanctuary after intense rainstorms raised river levels, disrupted operations and destroyed the only access bridge, temporarily stranding the gibbons.

Plans are now underway to relocate the affected gibbons to higher ground deeper in the jungle.
