Firm claiming billions in overseas wealth is unregistered, says Bukit Aman

A company claiming to have access to billions of Ringgit in overseas gold and cash reserves is not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), says Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa.

The Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director on Friday (Aug 8) said the alleged mastermind, posing as a “Datuk Seri,” claimed to have inherited foreign assets and promised investors high returns once the reserves were “activated,” requiring upfront payments for management costs.

He added that victims were also shown forged Bank Negara Malaysia documents bearing fake logos, stamps and signatures.
