Fire Department deploys bodycams, dash-cams to improve response time

Firemen being equipped with body-worn cameras and fire engines fitted with dash-cams are part of the fire and rescue department's efforts to use technology to improve efficiency and response time.

The department's director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad said the department uses RFID-enabled handheld scanners to track and manage more than 200 pieces of equipment in each fire engine as part of its Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence system (C4iFRDM).
