Fahmi: Budget 2027 puts households, jobs in focus

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil has welcomed Budget 2027, tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday (Oct 9), saying it reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening the economy and building a fairer, more dignified future.

Fahmi also welcomed the recognition of initiatives under the Communications Ministry, including the National Information Dissemination Centre (Nadi), the JENDELA 2 programme and the Madani Submarine Cable Connectivity (Salam) project.

He further welcomed the waiver of entertainment taxes on cinema tickets and theatre performances in the Federal Territories, saying the move would provide some relief for local filmmakers and audiences.
