Fadhlina: Improving quality of English Language education top priority for Education Ministry

Improving the quality of English Language education is a top priority for the Education Ministry this year.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. said in the ministry's New Year message on Friday (Jan 19) that while elevating Bahasa Malaysia remains a key priority for the ministry, there is a need to improve English proficiency, especially in terms of the quality of its teaching.

Fadhlina said the ministry plans on training 8,000 BI option teachers this year and has projected that they will need about 10,000 BI option teachers in the next five years.
