Ex-juvenile detainee who earned PhD in prison granted royal audience

A former juvenile detainee who spent 24 years in custody and earned a doctorate during imprisonment was granted a royal audience with the Selangor Ruler on Tuesday (Feb 3).

According to a post shared on the Selangor Royal Office’s official Facebook account, Dr Malik Yatam met Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in what was described as a deeply emotional and reflective meeting that lasted almost an hour.
