EU successful in being 'firm but non-escalatory' with US on Greenland, more investment to come

After an emergency meeting in Brussels on Jan 22, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said the EU was successful in being "firm but non-escalatory" with the United States which eventually backed down on tariff threats to acquire Greenland.

Der Leyen said the European Commission will soon propose a substantive investment package for the Danish territory as it reckoned that it has been underinvested.
