Emergency agencies stage chemical spill drill on BKE

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) conducted an emergency simulation exercise on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE) involving about 100 personnel from various rescue agencies and strategic partners near the Penanti rest area along the highway on Wednesday (Oct 21).

The exercise simulated a collision involving fuel and chemical tanker lorries to test emergency response, firefighting, hazardous material spill management, casualty evacuation, traffic control and inter-agency coordination.
