El Nino: Bomba to step up readiness for potential heatwave and forest fires

The Fire and Rescue Department is stepping up its preparedness for possible heatwaves and forest fires amid forecasts of an El Nino phenomenon that could bring drier conditions than last year.

Its director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad said all state fire and rescue directors have been instructed to strengthen their respective preparations.
