Education Ministry open to discuss teaching other calligraphic studies in school

When asked if the government could introduce other calligraphy arts such as Chinese calligraphy to school children in the country, Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said it would be interesting to discuss the possibility, stressing that the art education in the country emphasises on arts from various ethnic groups.

Dr Maszlee told reporters that after attending the 2019 Prime Minister's Cup Final Competition on Sunday, adding that he had met with Chinese-language print and electronic media editors to discuss and elaborate on the introduction of khat in the school curriculum so that it will not burden the students.
