EC data used for pre-registration purposes only, says MB on Selangor insurance scheme

The people's personal data is not being misused to register them for the Selangor General Insurance Scheme (Insan), says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Mentri Besar on Wednesday (Aug 23) said that when responding to allegations from certain individuals that personal data was being used arbitrarily without their consent to register them for the Insan scheme, adding that the state government obtained permissible public data from the Election Commission which was only used to pre-register potential recipients for insurance coverage.
