The government has been urged to reconsider certain policies, such as the tobacco tax and travel restrictions imposed on Langkawi.

Former Prime Minister and Langkawi MP Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad made the appeal in Dewan Rakyat on Thursday, adding that businesses especially the tourism industry on the island have been hit hard since the implementation of the movement control order.
