Dr M: Govt will do away with golden shares in GLCs if necessary

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government will do away with holding golden shares in government-linked companies (GLCs) if necessary after conducting a proper study.

He cited the scandal-hit 1MDB as an example in which the government was forced to take over.
