Don't punish ministry staff for attending official events during state polls - Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi vowed to protect Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) officers from any punishment or pressure for attending official ministry programmes during state elections.
Speaking at the ministry's monthly gathering on Thursday, Ahmad Zahid said civil servants shouldn't be penalised for loyalty to the government of the day, as long as they stay out of party politics.
