Dewan Negara: Health Ministry approved Timah labelling, says deputy minister

Deputy Finance Minister II Yamani Hafez Musa told the Dewan Negara on Wednesday (Oct 20) that the Health Ministry had approved the labelling for local whisky “Timah” after Senator Datuk Razali Idris called on the government to take it off the shelves.

Timah manufacturer has clarified that "Timah whisky harks back to the tin-mining era during (the) British (colonisation of) Malaya and the man pictured on the bottle is Captain Speedy, one of the men who introduced the whisky culture back then."
